If you’re using Strava to track your rides, you might be hesitant to download a new app. Luckily, you can import all your Strava data—from the past and future—into Trailforks by following these simple steps.

Tracking Data in Strava and Trailforks

The Trailforks app is packed with useful features, especially for mountain bikers, including trail condition reports, route recommendations, and ride logs. The app also allows mountain biking associations to keep track of trail conditions, trail builders to log work, and mountain bikers to share their rides.

There are several advantages to tracking your rides in Trailforks rather than Strava (or in both). For instance, logging your ride data with Trailforks has the following benefits:

Trailforks can act as a personal log of all your rides. Trailforks can analyze your data to generate trail usage statistics used by trail associations. Trailforks can calculate the average ride times required for riders to finish trails. Trailforks can recommend routes and trails that best meet your skills and interests.

Assuming you have Trailforks already on your mobile device, the first thing to do is the easiest: log in! If you don’t have Trailforks on your smartphone, what are you waiting for? It’s one of the best apps to navigate while mountain biking.

Open the Trailforks app. Tap Login. If you don’t have a username and password, tap Register to create an account. Then, enter your username and password, and tap Login again.

2. Authorize Trailforks with Your Strava Account

Strava keeps making it easier to communicate with other apps. For example, Strava teamed up with Snapchat to share data and improve the functionality of both apps. To authorize Trailforks to access your Strava Account, just follow these steps:

From the Trailforks app, tap the Menu button (three lines) in the upper corner of the screen. Tap Account. Tap Connect with Strava. You’ll be taken to the Strava login page. Enter your email and password. Then, tap Log In. Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Authorize.

3. Set Up Automated Import for Strava Activities

Now that you’ve connected Strava to Trailforks, you can configure Trailforks to automatically import future Strava rides without you having to do anything.

Visit the Trailforks website to configure the automatic import. Tap Login. Enter your username and password and tap Login again. Select your preferences and tap Save Auto Import Settings.

By following this step, all future Strava data will be added to Trailforks automatically, usually within an hour of the activity being completed.

4. Import Past Strava Rides

Now that your future Strava rides will be automatically added to your Trailforks account, you can go ahead and use the bulk import tool to import your entire existing Strava history (excluding specific rides that you don’t want to include if any). Here’s how to do it:

On the Trailforks website, tap Bulk Import Past Strava. Select your preferences and tap Import Selected.
